Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates.

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

The issue comes and goes. There are updates that fix the issue, and then other updates after those that just break it again. So he's likely to run into the same issue in the future.

I'm starting to think this is really a hardware issue. At least on my end. But with so many people having the same issue, I think quite a few of these were lemons.

Did you do anything in particular? Did you try reinstalling those three updates everyone talks about? Or was it just a complete coincidence that it happened to end up working all on its own?

Oddly mine is OK now - I had to go back to Win 8.1 on the Venue - W10 was hopeless - even the blue tooth mouse wouldn't work - One of the many updates seems to have solved the WiFi issue and its working ok - fingers crossed it stays that way.......

I've just gone through step by step trying this fix to no avail. I still wake my tablet from sleep mode after a few minutes only to find that the WiFi adapter is not working.

Has anyone else found another solution at all other than this? Dealing with Dell is completely pointless, they actually told me that their team knows the tablet to be completely problem-free on Windows 8.1 or 10.
