Dell Venue Pro loses wireless connection after installing Windows Updates

The Dell Venue 8 Pro and Dell Venue 11 Pro lost all wireless connectivity after installing either Windows Update**KB 2887595** or**KB 2903939**.

How can I get my WiFi back?

Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates. 

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200. 

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

    It wasn't fixed months ago. The Dell Venue 8 Pro has a problem maintaining a Wi-Fi connection. To test this, start a song streaming over the network either from Xbox music, if you can get it to see your music on the Windows 8.1 Home Group, or over SkyDrive. 

    Once you have the connection close to the router, try moving around.

    I was not able to get a song to finish if I was 30 feet from the router.

    The same experiment was a fail on Nexus 7 as well but worked on Surface 2 and a Lumia 920 with Wi-Fi. Also on iPhone 4, iPad 1st Gen and iPad Air (all Wi-Fi only)

    So, It's been 2 months, and this issue will NOT go away.  If I turn off WiFi from the taskbar, I can NOT turn it back on (the slide switch keeps going to off).  I performed the uninstall of the KB2883200, KB2887595 and KB2903939 updates, then "hid" them.  It didn't change a thing. 

    This is a very inconvenient way of addressing the problem, but if I have to turn it off,  I do so at Device Manager window. It connects immediately, when I re-enable the wifi device.

    You'd think, Microsoft or Dell would be interested in solving this.
