Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates.

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

I did not remove the old WiFi/BT driver and just updated.  Guess what?  System disconnected last night.  Let me know how the complete reinstall worked.  I did have an infection about a month ago and that might be the cause of a corrupted driver.

I just did a complete reinstall of Win8.1 and updated all the drivers and BIOS at Dell before I did a Windows update. Many times before I had lost WIFI doing this so I crossed my fingers and did the Windows update and haven't had a problem with the WIFI at all so far. So it seems and I hope Dell fixed the WIFI problem.

Dell has published both bios update and WiFi/BT drivers.  So far so good.  I am surprised Dell took so long.  I have not  done any work arounds nor stopped updates, just uninstalled/reinstalled the WiFi card with success after letting DV8P go to "sleep".

Thanks for the update, will give the new packages a go.
