Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates.

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

In late July dell released an update that solved the problem for a while.

But on 12 of August after Windows Defender update using wifi became impossible, the simptoms described above were there every 30 minutes.

The obvious thing to try was to turn off windows defender.

And now I am running for the whole hour without a problem.

I'll report back if wifi will fail again with defender off.

If you don't hear from me consider that the problem was solved permanently.

Even after complete re-install of the OS(no updates at all) the problem with WiFi is still there.

When Wifi left ON and go to SLEEP, after wake-up is OK. But if turned OFF and SLEEP after cannot

be turned back ON, unless Control panel->Network and Sharing Center->Change adapter settings,

Right click->Disable and again Right click->Enable.

After this is possible to turn the WiFi back ON from Setings and see the networks.
