Dell Venue Pro loses wireless connection after installing Windows Updates

The Dell Venue 8 Pro and Dell Venue 11 Pro lost all wireless connectivity after installing either Windows Update**KB 2887595** or**KB 2903939**.

How can I get my WiFi back?

Hi,

This issue may occur if specific Windows Updates are not installed in the proper order. Microsoft has made a change to prevent further customers from getting into this state.  Customers must now have a pre-requisite update (KB 2883200) installed before being offered these updates. 

To restore wireless connectivity:

1.     Uninstall all of the following updates:

·         KB 2887595 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: November 2013

·         KB 2903939 – Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update rollup: December 2013

To uninstall an update, go to the Control Panel and select Programs.  Then, under Programs and Features, select View installed updates.  Select the updates listed above and click Uninstall.  If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2.     Install the updates listed below.  When you run Windows Update, the updates will now automatically be installed in the proper order.  You must restart the computer after you apply each update.

·        Install KB 2883200. 

·        Install KB 2887595 and KB 2903939.

    Jon,

    Mine is now working like a champ.  Updated all firmware, BIOS, etc.  No more issues.  Even the old style stylus is working!  Thanks to the thread and the Engineer's suggestions.

    Cecil: I hold the power button until the screen goes black. A standard shutdown does not restore the connection ... usually.

    what you mean "reset windows",    I assume turn off N mode has to do with router?  had this problem for a while, some time ago. now started up again and the updates are not installed.  after like an hour of streaming, wifi goes off, sometimes tablet just shuts off. either way have to restart to get a connection again, sometimes have to wait for a while???

    Yeah,

    It's OK for general use but, after spending several hours with Dell support, I've given up and am not using the tablets for anything that requires a stable connection.
