Dell Venue 8 Pro - black screen after powering on or getting it out of sleep

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet. The screen of the 8 pro often doesnt turn on after pressing the power button (to get it out of sleep) or after pressing the windows button. Only the backlight turns on. 

Sometimes, after pressing the power button numerous times the screen turns on. (numerous = >50times)

Doenst matter if the battery is 100% or 10%.

The screen also doesnt turn on booting it up (after powering down).

Also when i press the power button + volume down immediately after (to enter the bios), it shows a black screen with backlight on.

I have installed teamviewer on the 8 pro and i have logged on with my laptop 3 times while having a black screen on the 8 pro.

The strange thing is, when viewing the 8 pro's screen with teamviewer, i can see the touch screen of the 8 pro is still functioning. See this video i made:

Each time i watched the system event log, and saw warnings like:

'a pointer device did not report a valid unit of angular measurement'

'a pointer device reported a bad angular physical range'

'a pointer device reported a bad angular logical range'

I have installed all the laters Dell drivers and flashed the Bios (also from Dell). Also i installed the latest windows 8.1 updates.

I have rolled back the installed Intel graphic drivers to standard microsoft drivers, but also with the standard drivers the screen occasionally wont turn on.

This device is rather new. What can i do to fix this?

    According to my device manager, that version of the network adapter has never been on my device. i have v 3.7.2.45425 (9/29/13). My problems didnt start until a couple weeks after i got the v8p, so i'm not sure that'd be it. i have installed quite a few other updates, however. as suggested in this forum, i uninstalled windows update KB2883200...and then the wifi wouldn't turn on at all. I'll try to download that previous version of the driver, but i think i'm pretty close to having to call dell...

    I did a rollback from device manager to get it. Dell's site only lists a newer one as far as I know, and it hadn't been working properly for me.

    +1 here.

    Just got my V8P last week and ran updates from Dell's website.

    After reboot or shutdown the screen boots past BIOS to blank screen.

    Hitting the Power button a couple times usually gets it going again but a few times I have had to hard power it off and then back on again to resolve.

    Annoying to say the least but love the device otherwise.

    You might try checking the WiFi network driver. I've had great success with my v8p after rolling the network driver back to version 3.7.2.34423 date 8/30/2013.

    I didn't download it.  It was, apparently, the original driver on the device.  So, I used Device Manager to "Roll Back" the driver.  (I had previously, after purchasing the V8P, installed the one that IS on the site)
