Dell Venue 8 Pro - black screen after powering on or getting it out of sleep

I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet. The screen of the 8 pro often doesnt turn on after pressing the power button (to get it out of sleep) or after pressing the windows button. Only the backlight turns on. 

Sometimes, after pressing the power button numerous times the screen turns on. (numerous = >50times)

Doenst matter if the battery is 100% or 10%.

The screen also doesnt turn on booting it up (after powering down).

Also when i press the power button + volume down immediately after (to enter the bios), it shows a black screen with backlight on.

I have installed teamviewer on the 8 pro and i have logged on with my laptop 3 times while having a black screen on the 8 pro.

The strange thing is, when viewing the 8 pro's screen with teamviewer, i can see the touch screen of the 8 pro is still functioning. See this video i made:

Each time i watched the system event log, and saw warnings like:

'a pointer device did not report a valid unit of angular measurement'

'a pointer device reported a bad angular physical range'

'a pointer device reported a bad angular logical range'

I have installed all the laters Dell drivers and flashed the Bios (also from Dell). Also i installed the latest windows 8.1 updates.

I have rolled back the installed Intel graphic drivers to standard microsoft drivers, but also with the standard drivers the screen occasionally wont turn on.

This device is rather new. What can i do to fix this?

    I'm having the same problem here. It's July 6, 2014 and Dell and Microsoft still have not fixed these issues. I hate to return the device, but I don't have much faith in a forthcoming solution.

    I see the same event in system log when I connect through rdp from iPhone.

    I think I can just ignore this since there is no other impact for my case.

    I had the same issue with mine, at first it was working fine, the first 2 Days, then it Went through windows Update and suddenly it wouldn't Wake from sleep (it is running, just not the display). I Think this happens when it enters hybrid hibernation.

    So after updating BIOS and drivers I still had the issue, so I reset the device back to factory default and it started working again. This time I install all windows Update except kb2883200.

    And it has been working fine since then. I still have Wifi Connection issues though, but it awakes from sleep.

    I have just reinstalled office 2013 but I don't Think that caused this, the only thing I have yet to install is java and flash in desktop mode, but I doubt they will cause these issue either.

    Many people have pointed towards kb2883200, and it seemed to be my issue to, that KB tries to fix wakeup issues, and it even remarks that you might get this problem

    "A fix is scheduled to be included with the upcoming update rollup in November 2013.

    • You experience an error when resuming a computer from hibernation, and a blank screen is shown. This issue may occur with some computers that have TPM chips enabled. "

    They mention though there should be a fix in november?
