Dell Venue 8 Pro - black screen after powering on or getting it out of sleep

I am getting this same error on V8P. Looks like it first occurred on 12/8. Since then i've had the black (but backlit) unresponsive screen, and it now takes 30-40 min for the system to boot up past the Dell screen. Checked all drivers, BIOS, and other updates, did a registry scan. No luck with any of these but wanted to share my experience.

You might try checking the WiFi network driver. I've had great success with my v8p after rolling the network driver back to version 3.7.2.34423 date 8/30/2013.  I did that on two V8P's which were both having the same problem, and now both are working great and getting good battery life (about twice what they were getting on newer drivers).

But no reboot required?  That sounds somewhat normal.  Just means that no devices are recognized to bring the OS out of Sleep, e.g. just wakes a video driver (maybe the wrong one?), so one press puts it to Sleep again and another wakes it up properly but this time you don't need to sign in again.

In fact, I have seen that case myself a few times, especially when trying to restart W7 (so no login screen required) and I have some other USB devices plugged in.  Just mentioning this is making me aware that I probably should have used powercfg.exe to check on a device instead of just unplugging it.

Another uncertainty I have is whether BCD Resume is involved with this.  If so, it may be an idea to try fiddling with resolution options using bcdedit.   Then when there is a switch to the OS video driver it might somehow work better.   Related to this I had a surprising discovery when experimenting with VGA mode boot.  No surprise that the OS came up with low resolution or that MUF apps would not launch; a bit of surprise that both monitors were active, apparently in Duplicate mode,  but real surprise that  Win-P, Extend then apparently undid the boot choice and put video back to normal on both monitors!

On my Dell Venue 8 Pro, I'm getting the black/blank screen after logging on in landscape mode.  The screen is lit but blank and nothing save pressing the power button twice seems to restore it to normal.  This black/blank screen after logging on seems to only occur after restarting the tablet or starting up after a shutdown.  Logging on from portrait mode is problem free.

Just tossing in my experience in the hopes that collectively we can identify cause and solution.

I spoke with Dell's tech support this morning.  Their tech said the problem is related to two Windows updates and that "Microsoft engineers" are looking into it.  He told me to uninstall KB2883200 and KB2887595 and then hide them.  He said this would fix the wifi problem as well.  At first, this seemed to fix both.  Unfortunately, when they call me tomorrow for a follow up, I'm going to have to tell them that the tablet is still not waking properly, and it is still dropping the wifi.  I'm still having the pdc.sys error message as well.  So, it must be something else.  

He did mentioned that the problem might be related to TPM (Trusted Platform Module).  By default, this is turned on and so is Bitlocker.  I'm not going to turn it off though because I don't know what would happen. It was turned on before I bought it, and I'm not familiar with how Bitlocker works.
