how to reset phone if i forgot my lockscreen password

i forgot my phone's lock screen pin and unable to unlock it

after reading a lot of questions regarding it i found that we should reset the phone and there is no other option than that .

so how to do it, mine is lumia 520

Log into windowsphone.com and use the Find My Phone feature to set a new lock code

  1. Go to http://www.windowsphone.com and sign to the Microsoft account associated with your phone.
  2. Select "Find My Phone" from  the drop down menu that appears when you click on your name.  Or just go to https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/my/find
  3. Click the "Lock" link
  4. Enter a new 4 digit PIN code and press the Lock button.

    i dont remember the password of my lumia and now i am trying to reset it in the manner u explained bt i am not able to do so!!

    i just want to know that all the buttons as per step 3 are to b pressed all together or one by one ????

    plzzz reply ASAP.

    Hi Chris,

    i get this screen, but where i have to enter the new PIN?

    In the "Type the message you want to show on the lock screen"?

    If I do so, my Phone only shows, that the smartphone is locked by ******@live.com.

    I have only one try left before my smartphone will be erased. - Please Help.

    MY PHONE  lumia 520 GETS LOCKED FOR 87000 MINUTES WHEN I CHANGED MY SIM CARD. i did the 8.1 update for developers and got 2 further updates. and now my date and time is 2 months back from the present
