What exactly does KB2952664 do?

Guys,

Just ignore Cornell. His icon says he is a "Windows 10 Launch Expert." He's drinking the kool-aid; let him rant and ramble, then just ignore him.

I have NEVER participated in the Customer Experience Improvement Program and KB2952664 is still following me around like a puppy looking for table scraps, on all of my computers. If it behaves like nagware it IS nagware.

Some folks simply cannot see the forest for the trees. while they may have my sympathy, they don't have my trust.

BTW, I love the "digital dust" reference. Nice going, Thrash.  :)

Just in case you have not noticed the whole 25 pages of this thread is largely devoted to rants against Microsoft. Very little space is devoted to rational discussion. I guess you think dissent equates to rant.

Speaking of which .... what is your opinion on Microsoft's behavior regarding Windows 10 installations. Do you find it acceptable for Microsoft to continue to push Windows 10 installations to customers who have made it abundantly clear that they do not want Windows 10.

My two cents is if anyone does not understand the windows update settings options and refuse to alter them according to what they want should not be surprised if win-10 is installing in front of their face one day :)

That is not the issue at all. In reading your most recent posts it is clear you have intentionally and categorically ignored factual statements made by other contributors.

I love dissent ; it's how we get to the truth. Your posts have shown an almost arrogant disregard for the truth and it is that which I find objectionable, not the fact that you disagree. You simply choose to ignore the findings of other contributors, the quotes accurately attributed to Microsoft, and any other evidence that opposes your point of view.

I stand by my accusation of rant because you, sir, are exhibiting a blatant disregard for other points of view; you are simply couching it in terms of "collegial" disagreement. That is not my opinion; it is evidence that exists in this thread.

If you would take the time to read all of my posts you will learn I am not ranting against Microsoft; I am a Microsoft Certified Professional and I am truly saddened by their "we know better than you" attitude in regards to Windows users. I was a Windows 10 Beta tester and I raised some of these concerns during the year-long test phase.

One of my friends has held his MCSE certification for over 20 years; his MCP number is 3 digits long, and like me he is sorely disappointed in the actions being taken by a company with whom he has had a relationship for most of his adult life.

If I choose to ignore/hide an update it is my choice. I may not own the operating system but I do own the hardware on which it is installed. Therefore, I get to decide how that hardware is used, maybe to my own peril, but it IS my choice. Microsoft's repeated attempts to coerce me into doing something I do not want to do is, at least, ethically dubious in nature.
