KB2952664 was published on April 22, 2014 and appears in my Windows Update List (I am running Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit).
The description of this update is vague: "This update helps Microsoft make improvements to the current operating system in order to ease the upgrade experience to the latest version of Windows."
Anyone have more information on what this update actually does? If its sole purpose is to ease the "upgrade" from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (or 8.1 or 8.1 update), then I'll just permanently hide KB2952664 (I have no desire or intention to "upgrade" my Windows 7 system to any flavor of Windows 8).
If its purpose is to ease what would be a true Windows 7 upgrade to a yet-to-be-announced Windows 7 SP2, then I'll keep it (but still would like to have more information about what KB2952664 actually does before installing).

Their increasing desperation to force a product on a market that obviously does not want it is fuelling an arrogance that will be their downfall. This will not end well for them.
MS updated my Office 365 this week. Do you think they might have included "Get Windows 10" with that update?

Is there a KB (or any other identifiable/searchable) number associated with the Office 365 update you received? If so, try searching on that number and the phrase: Windows 10 ... so see if anyone else had a similar problem after getting Office 356 updated.
Is Office 365 updated automatically or do you have to click something to get the updates (Sorry for all these questions, I do not have Office 365). Is Office 365 updated via the Windows Update process, or some other process (such as settings within the app itself)? If Office 365 is automatically updated, you may want to find out if there is an option to manually control when the updates are downloaded & installed.
You should probably run the GWX Control Panel after any update from Microsoft.
As far as which KB updates one should install (versus which ones to hide), Woody Leonard's site recommends that update descriptions in the Windows Update list that begin with "Security update for Windows ..." should be installed, but those that begin with "Update for Windows ..." should NOT be installed. In other words, install the KB updates that are for security and do not install the others (i.e., non-security).
I would also recommend to keep updating GWX Control Panel regularly.
I understand microsoft now broke the "security only" rule -- the latest security update for internet explorer also at least pushes Win10.
You can't even trust them for the security updates. Just like congressional bills, it's only security update [plus annoyware or other stuff pushing/forcing Win10].

Microsoft's updates for Office 365 are totally separate from Windows Update. Most of your questions are answered in my previous posts.
I just found something!

It talked about how to modify it by computer configuration -- I had no idea what that was, but google told me it was gpedit (from RUN).
The path they gave was Computer Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates and further... I found it but without the "Policies" entry.
Further down it said how to disable it via the registry. I went there and it was already disabled. Not sure if I had done it earlier, or if the group policy ended up setting it, but who cares, it's done.
They also had a registry key to disable the notification icon, but I don't know if you're s'posed to add a whole folder and a variable in it, so I skipped that.
