What exactly does KB2952664 do?

KB2952664 was published on April 22, 2014 and appears in my Windows Update List (I am running Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit).

The description of this update is vague:  "This update helps Microsoft make improvements to the current operating system in order to ease the upgrade experience to the latest version of Windows."

Anyone have more information on what this update actually does? If its sole purpose is to ease the "upgrade" from Windows 7 to Windows 8 (or 8.1 or 8.1 update), then I'll just permanently hide KB2952664 (I have no desire or intention to "upgrade" my Windows 7 system to any flavor of Windows 8).

If its purpose is to ease what would be a true Windows 7 upgrade to a yet-to-be-announced Windows 7 SP2, then I'll keep it (but still would like to have more information about what KB2952664 actually does before installing).

    Same things I've been saying in sort form = Review updates before downloading and installing them......change settings... :/

    Seems nobody thinks that is an easy task ?

    No way to change that view :(

    The only way is "Never check for update". Otherwise you'll end up with Windows 10 in your PC.

    Yes, it's similar as "Review" updates.

    Let's see what happens with "Review" within a few months from now.

    I strictly do not recommend to set "Review" on customers' PCs since end users could accidentaly install Windows 10.

    This is exactly what Microsoft is counting on ... that millions of Windows 7 & 8 users (who are not computer savvy) will just accidentally allow the Windows 10 installation process to complete (not realizing they have a choice to not install Windows 10).

    Regardless of what settings one has for Windows Update, every Windows 7 & 8 user, who does not want to install Windows 10, must be diligent whenever running Windows Update.

    Microsoft will continue to escalate their tactics for coercing customers to upgrade to Windows 10.

    Just another reason to ALL users, to save their pictures, documents and other personal stuff on extern harddisk and USB-stick!!! This is VERY important, and can't be written too much!

    But all most no one saves their stuff on extern media - SO sad!!
