What exactly does KB2952664 do?

Not too surprising.  I just read a story that someone had sued them for making her computer into a brick.  MS settled out of court for $10,000.  I am simply amazed that millions of litigious Americans have not started a class action suit.

Just reading the tone of commentary on the Forum, gives one the clear impression that there are likely millions of taken-for-granted Windows owners/users are really fed up.

I have been a huge MS booster since the mid-80s.  I now have mutated into an expert in stopping MS from wrecking my client's computers.  I am ready to jump the MS ship the moment a real alternative comes along.  I've had it.

If you do not want to install Windows 10 on your computer, then you do NOT want (and do NOT need) KB2952664.

You can hide KB2952664 (and any other update that you do not want) as follows ...

1. Look through the list of Important update, and the list of Optional updates, in Windows Update.
2. Find the update you want to hide.
3. Right click the update; a drop-down list will appear near your mouse pointer.
4. Click the item in the list that says "Hide".
5. A pop-up may appear asking permission.
6. The update will then appear as "greyed out".
7. Repeat for any other updates you want to hide.
8. The next time you open Windows Update, the update(s) you have hidden will not be listed .... until Microsoft unhides them. When that happens, follow the above steps to re-hide the updates. Microsoft does not know the meaning of the word "NO" ... as in "NO, I do NOT want Windows 10 installed on my PC." ... so they will periodically unhide updates that the user has previously hidden ... that's why you should NEVER set your Windows Update setting to "Install Updates Automatically".

From what I understand it eases your machines capability to update in fact I believe it is a prelude for windows 10 which I dont like because microsoft took my machine and told me I needed to give my machine a password tha I specifically did not want so they merged two of my accounts and made me use the password they picked for me MY MACHINE MY PRIVATE BUISNESS STAY OUT OF IT KB254666 ALLOWED MICROSOFT TO DO THAT
