BH-940 Purity Pro wont charge anymore.

I recently purchased the Nokia Monster Purity Pro's in Aug 13 and have been charging them acording to the recommendations from the instruction booklet. Recently as I was wearing them the voice promtpted that my battery was low. I then charged, or thought I was charging them to use again. Once completed I put them on and I got the same message again. I tried the wall outlet, and computer, both have failed to charge the headphones.

When I plug in the headphones the led indicator goes on for about 30 seconds then switches off, not sure if that indicates anything, I know they have a 12 month warranty on them and when trying to find contact details I get brought to this discussion forum. I am assuming that they want me to use this as a first stop. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

How did you charge your phone? Note that this is the correct way of charging your headset:

    1. Plug the wide end of the charging cable to the charger.
    2. Plug the charger to a wall outlet.
    3. Plug the narrow end of the charging cable to the charger connector of the headset.

If that doesn't help, you can also try charging it from a computer with a compatible USB cable to see if there's any difference. If it's the same thing happen and if it's a newly purchased phone, you can send it back to the retailer or the shop where you purchased it for a possible replacement.

    Hi, sapphirelady18

Yes my headphone is Nokia Purity Pro Wireless Stereo Headset by Monster BH-940.

The first problem i don't have any power on the headset itself. When i connect the charger the red light stays on for about 10 seconds and then it disappears and the headphone doesn't charge. The only way i can use the wireless paring and NC is if i hook the headphone to a charger and start charging

PS, Your advice did not work.

These are a great pair of headsets and i would like to use the wireless functionality without having to hook the headset to a charger all the time

The website is quite ridiculus on navigating, When i go to the support page for warranty claims, I pretty much get re-directed to the same place again. There is no number, email, of any sort where I can submit a warranty claim for this product. I want to know how to get into contact with someone to get my headphones fixed.

Hi, a_yush. Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions. :smileyhappy:

What happens to the headset prior to this issue? By the way, what is the exact model of the Nokia Purity headset? Is it the, Nokia Purity Pro Wireless Stereo Headset by Monster BH-940? If yes, you may try resetting the hardware by doing the following steps:

    • Unfold headset to power-on
    • Go to Bluetooth pairing mode by long-pressing Bluetooth key
    • When in Bluetooth pairing mode perform factory reset by pressing simultaneously the Bluetooth and Play/Pause keys.
    • After the successful reset you hear the voice prompt “Factory settings restored”.
    • Fold and unfold device to power it on again.
    • The unit is not OK if it is failing to perform this hardware reset operation.

Just let me know if it makes any difference. 👍
