We have issued a fix to address most of the “mouse lag” issues associated with gaming in Windows 8.1, which vary based on the game, input methods used, etc. More details on the issue and available resolutions are available via KB 2908279, and affected customers can go to the Microsoft Download Center to install the update

as you can see this isnt a isolated issue and needs fixing asap. especially with many big titles just coming in the next few weeks on pc !

2013-10-23T03:34:58+00:00 Could Microsoft provide an update on the issue & whether it is going to be resolved soon?
They could, but whether they're going to or not I don't know, my guess is they don't give a damn.

2013-10-23T07:09:39+00:00 Some people are and some people aren't experiencing these issues, so it would be really awesome to see if it is specific type of software that could be causing the problem.
It's not a software that is causing the Problem. It mostly happens for gaming mice which have higher polling rates than 125Hz.

I don't understand most of this technical stuff as I am not a gamer but I have a brand new computer with quad core processor and everything was fine until I "upgraded" to 8.1. I do however enjoy my card games and they are now dreadful - intermittently the cards jump in slow jerky movements and take a while to leave the stack, and sometimes you have to tap them twice. Also the sound intermittently disappears.
This has obviously been caused by 8.1 and is for Microsoft to fix, not for thousands of individuals to be messing with settings that were previously fine. I have had similar problems caused by firmware upgrades on a Smart TV and it is always going to be a problem when someone else is in control of your appliances!
Looking at what can happen if you uninstall it I am not prepared to risk all my other installed programmes but I am writing to the CEO for the second time (not had a reply to the first yet) and maybe as there is not response forthcoming on here everybody else should do the same.

2013-10-23T09:53:43+00:00 the simple thing is this in 8.1 its locking mice to 125hz. so if you use anything higher than that which most modern mice do you screwed and locked to 125hz.
i have had no support from microsoft no responses from anywhere on this issue.
thing is this is flying around the web on numerous websites you think microsoft would of solved this by now and it not even a hard fix !
