as you can see this isnt a isolated issue and needs fixing asap. especially with many big titles just coming in the next few weeks on pc !

how can this be sent higher up so this issue is resolved ? thanks.

We have issued a fix to address most of the “mouse lag” issues associated with gaming in Windows 8.1, which vary based on the game, input methods used, etc. More details on the issue and available resolutions are available via KB 2908279, and affected customers can go to the Microsoft Download Center to install the update

I did a bing search and it appears this issue is getting a lot of media coverage, which is a good sign.  I also posted a few tweets already about the issue:

Good idea in letting other companies know. I also use a Razer mouse, the Deathadder 3.5G and I suffer from this lag issue. The majority of games work perfectly smooth (because they have a raw mouse option or one built in) but for titles that don't, they run terrible. Even "MarkC's" mouse lag fix didn't work for me.

The games it that lag I have to use a 360 pad which isn't ideal but I have no choice.

    Microsoft Come on!!!!

Crud, that's the same mouse I have.  I'm in the process of installing Windows 8.1 this week, so I will be sure to file a report with Razer about the issue.

I'll put in a tweet about it, too, if that will help (praying to the twitter gods...)

Using a Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000. The only thing that changed was upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.

The problem did happen in Windows 8 but was fairly rare. In Windows 8.1 it happens with such frequency that it makes it nearly impossible to play.

Only point it could have is that instead of consumers complaining, is that then we might have (if they care enough) companies complaining.

In which case, MS might start working a little faster though ...

Considering I'm a bit of a mouse enthousiast I could send mails to a variety of companies, I have ROCCAT's, Zowie's, Razer's and Logitech's lying around.

Right, that's what I mean: soon Microsoft would be getting the complaints from companies they have an interest in supporting, since those companies build peripherals for the Windows OS.

I'm in the middle of building a new PC and about to install Win 8.1.  If I find my Razer mouse has the problem then I'll write a simple note to Razer that the mouse is not working well under Windows 8.1, and let Razer figure out the source of the problem is Microsoft.

I imagine the peripheral companies like Razer and Logitech will eventually discover the DPI framework problems through their own internal testing, perhaps when getting their new product lines ready for the upcoming holiday season.  But it will probably help save some time on their part if customers start reporting the DPI issues to them now instead of later.
