Windows 8.1 Pro x64 UEFI very slow boot and shutdown

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 via the in-store update my PC takes a good 3-4 minutes to boot!!! I am on a GA-X79-UD3 + i7-3820 + Samsung SSD 840 for system drive. I have updated all my drivers to Windows 8.1 compatible ones and still. I have checked via Samsung Magician and the drive is using AHCI mode on (Intel PCH) Sata 3 6Gb/s.  I have tried restoring my UEFI to default settings and enabling Fast Boot but still?? On Windows 8 it would boot in 5 seconds....

EDIT: Have tried Safe Boot and Clean Boot, still same

EDIT2: Will any Microsoft guy chime in?

    I had the same problem when updated my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1. I thought the boot and shutdow problem of this new version had already been fixed by Microsoft, but I was wrong and now I regret installing it in my notebook, which is a Intel 7 I have purchased only 3 months ago! It really ****! I will follow my geek friends advice and buy a MacPro. I am done with Microsoft!

    Installation of the latest versions of drivers for the Qualcomm Atheros AR3012 Bluetooth, AR9485 Qualcomm Atheros WiFi and Intel Management Engine Interface DID THE TRICK! Thank you all for all the help!

    Window 8.1 booting for 4  minutes. My answer 

    Do not enable auto update when upgrading to 8.1.

    Keep it off and reboot a few times and you will see every thing is fine.

    Once you manually begin to do updates you will find things are not right on the updates.

    In the end once you load the first three updates you will see the lag on boot up.

    Microsoft has hosed the updates some how.

    I have a HP envy laptop that has both the boot and shutdown issues.  Its running the intel Core 17

    Sometimes that problem is because the correct hard drive is not on #1 boot device on your BIOS

    Goto BIOS (F2 or delete)

    Look into Bios Priority

    If needed go to "Advanced Mode" - "Boot" - "Boot option Priorities"  

    Check on "Boot Option #1" if the correct hard drive is set

    If your HD is not showing in "Boot Option #1" go to "Hard Drive BBS Priorities" and change the order

    Save and Enjoy :)
