Windows 8.1 Pro x64 UEFI very slow boot and shutdown

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 via the in-store update my PC takes a good 3-4 minutes to boot!!! I am on a GA-X79-UD3 + i7-3820 + Samsung SSD 840 for system drive. I have updated all my drivers to Windows 8.1 compatible ones and still. I have checked via Samsung Magician and the drive is using AHCI mode on (Intel PCH) Sata 3 6Gb/s.  I have tried restoring my UEFI to default settings and enabling Fast Boot but still?? On Windows 8 it would boot in 5 seconds....

EDIT: Have tried Safe Boot and Clean Boot, still same

EDIT2: Will any Microsoft guy chime in?

    Must be updates are not reaching some manufactures driver download sites; some do not even have W8 for older computers. My wifes new Samsung just yesterday had a bunch of drivers to update when the day before did not.

    I'm thinking it's a W8,1  Pro only issue; anybody with plain W8  having this probelem? Anyway since so many variable between my wifes SSD Ultrabook and my old HP Desktop; can't be sure of anything; escept when I goat W8.1 pro back in January for the desktop; start up time wiere close to 70 seconds; now only 50 seconds with W8.1. Wifes regular W8.1 is 10 seconds; was  about the same with W8.

    I have the "regular" W8 that I upgraded to 8.1.  As I have said, I do not have a slow startup problem but shutdown now takes about 4 minutes.  Looked at the "event viewer" and there are numerous items that keep popping up.  In the next few days I will probably reinstall W8 and check the startup and shutdown between each app installation.

    It's odd that some of us using SSDs and squeaky clean installs are having issues.

    I mean, I'm using a brand new Sammy 840 EVO SSD on a SATA 6Gb/s Port and still getting relatively poor startup/shutdown times compared to Win8Pro.

    I'm loathed to reinstall Win8Pro again because I'm tired of having to resintall Apps and Programs and tweak them as I like them.

    I'm just going to stick this one out as I primarily game and use Adobe suite on this rig and the benefits of Win8.1 are there enough to warrant stick with it.

    Must be a W8.1 PRO issue. Can someone out there tell us they're having problems with just plain W8?

    I too would install Win8 again but this being a dual-boot configuration and having a $h!t-ton of programs and projects, I really can't afford to do it.
