Windows 8.1 Pro x64 UEFI very slow boot and shutdown

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 via the in-store update my PC takes a good 3-4 minutes to boot!!! I am on a GA-X79-UD3 + i7-3820 + Samsung SSD 840 for system drive. I have updated all my drivers to Windows 8.1 compatible ones and still. I have checked via Samsung Magician and the drive is using AHCI mode on (Intel PCH) Sata 3 6Gb/s.  I have tried restoring my UEFI to default settings and enabling Fast Boot but still?? On Windows 8 it would boot in 5 seconds....

EDIT: Have tried Safe Boot and Clean Boot, still same

EDIT2: Will any Microsoft guy chime in?

    I have an open support ticket going with Microsoft in which they are reviewing and analyzing the boot logs to try and determine what is causing the slower boot time from 8.0 to 8.1. Nothing yet,but will post something if they find anything. One thing I have observed on a consistent basis is that laptops and tablets are NOT seeing this issue at all. I have upgraded 8+ laptops/tablets and none have shown this problem. It seems to only be affecting desktops.

    Unfortunately that's not the case.  I upgraded my Dell Inspiron 3521 and my boot time increased by 3x (from 20 seconds to 1min).  Fortunately my laptop didn't have anything on it so I just used the recovery partition to go back to Win8 and everything is fine again.

    In my case that is true; wife's new Ultrabook with W8.1  standard, and an SSD is 10 sec boot. This desktop was 40 sec until it crashed then had to restore to HP Factory settings (W7) becuase W8.1 Pro got corrupted. So now I'm desktop ;on W7 with 60 sec boot. Tired of messing with W8; won't install it without a touch screen ; when I buy one---some day. factory installed. I think that it all has to do with the upgrading from W7. the Pro version is NOT needed for home use. I will just wait ; this destop may last a couple more years. It's more important to have speed when I'm traveling; so I will be sure and get SSD with Haswell (or later) for my next travel laptop--

    -I sure do like my wife's W8.1 Samsung Ultrabook with 128SSD, and the low power i5-3337 (guite and cool). the upgrade from W8 caused no problems; and improved boot time by 10 sec's. Stay away from Pro.

    Do Microsoft post or monitor these boards?  It'd be nice to know if this was being looked into.  Obviously it's a pretty common issue here.

    I m facing same problem .

    I have tried many solution but no outcome is there also made complaint regarding this to Microsoft. 

    I have tried one thing that if I m removing Microsoft account (general setting>users>switch to Microsoft account ) then my pc becomes faster. fast shutdown and fast restart and fast start up.

    try it. may be you may resolve this problem after removing that account so syncing process is stopped during shutdown (may be this is a problem!!) after removing account restart pc that also may take long time but further shutdown and restart will be fast.

    and I know that without switching Microsoft account there is no meaning to use windows 8 :(
