Windows 8.1 Pro x64 UEFI very slow boot and shutdown

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 via the in-store update my PC takes a good 3-4 minutes to boot!!! I am on a GA-X79-UD3 + i7-3820 + Samsung SSD 840 for system drive. I have updated all my drivers to Windows 8.1 compatible ones and still. I have checked via Samsung Magician and the drive is using AHCI mode on (Intel PCH) Sata 3 6Gb/s.  I have tried restoring my UEFI to default settings and enabling Fast Boot but still?? On Windows 8 it would boot in 5 seconds....

EDIT: Have tried Safe Boot and Clean Boot, still same

EDIT2: Will any Microsoft guy chime in?

    Had the same issue with a new install of 8.1 on a new HD.  It seemed to boot up fine from a cold boot, but if I selected restart, it could take 20+ minutes to get to login screen.  Disabled the Fast Startup option and so far it's been restarting just fine. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6320-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-8-a.html

    I also has this issue while my laptop is still so new (less than a month) I notice that when I shut it off for a while and then open it up again it boots up with less than 30 mins, but when I just restart after then it takes long, it is obvious now that its a  cache or memory issue, what do you think advanced I.T people (nerds ;)) ?

    Thanks for the heads up, Ronald. I will give it a shot, to disable the bluetooth, and if it doesn't help I will try to wait for new updates, like you recommend. About 10 minutes after the startup the computer becomes really fast, so it's not something that blocks me from working.

    Just a heads up.  Over time, my computer start up time resolved itself.  I don't know why.  Resetting puts everything back to the initial point, and then you have to update again.  3 to 4 minutes may seem a nuisance; however, at least in my case, it resolved itself 2 or 3 weeks.  I have seen it come back one or two time over the past 6 months, then go away, and restart in 1 minute or so regularly.

    I am experiencing the same problem, with a brand new Dell Inspiron 17R 5737 purchased two days ago. The hardware is really good, when I first turned it on everything was blazing fast and fine. After installing Windows updates and taken W8.1, start up is taking way too long (3-4 minutes). I will try to disable Bluetooth drivers, if it doesn't help, I will perform a factory restore to Windows 8 and avoid to perform updates.
