How can I disable the unsafe volume warning?

I usually have my laptop's system volume at 80% and plugged into speakers which I can adjust, but since updating to windows 8.1 I keep noticing that every time I turn my laptop on while plugged into the speakers it automatically lowers and limits my volume to about 40% and when I try to turn it up a large banner warns me that any higher might be unsafe for my ears asking am I sure I want to do this.

It's very annoying to get this every day, and I can't seem to find a way to disable the warning permanently.

    The excuse that it's for "Legal Reasons" is BS.  That whole argument went out in the 70's.  Since the user can use sound-amplifying headphones & speakers, it's not up to the PC manufacturer to step in and "warn" the user.  Besides, about half of the time the "headphone" port is used, it's used for speakers, not for headphones.  Anyway, don't headsets come with warnings?  Has ANYONE heard of any lawsuits against MS for hearing loss?  I sure couldn't find any.

    What this is, is someone's poorly thought-out "feature" idea, which was approved by some manager somewhere without any field testing.  And now we're stuck with it, because managers hate to admit they're wrong about anything, much less admit they added a feature without checking with the users.  I've seen this sort of thing SO MANY TIMES in the tech industry that it makes me sick.

    The good news is that eventually enough people will gripe about it that they either remove it or give us the option to turn it off.  On things like this which don't impair functionality for most users, it'll most likely take a year or so - by which time someone will have developed a utility work-around or fix anyway.  It appears to be part of Win8.1 (at least I never saw it before then), so I'm guessing 3-4 months from now, start looking for a fix.

    In the meantime, we all have yet another opportunity to build up more anger against MS for yet another poor design decision.  It ain't the first, won't be the last.  After 20 years or so, ya just kinda get used to it!  :-)

    Rollback your sound driver to the older addition if you're wary of uninstalling it.

    It's not a driver issue. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and rolled back and none of those options have fixed it.

    Rolling back to an older driver worked for me until some time this week when youtube started making horrible screeching noises at which point I finally had to update the driver.  Oh well I should have guessed MS would not fix this... :/

    I don't have this warning on any of my devices (Sony Vaio all-in-one PC, Dell Venue Pro 8 tablet, or Surface 2), so my guess is it is specific to a brand of audio driver.  Can I have you guys post back your audio card name (from Device Manager, press Win+X to get there) and let's see if there are any commonalities?
