How can I disable the unsafe volume warning?

I usually have my laptop's system volume at 80% and plugged into speakers which I can adjust, but since updating to windows 8.1 I keep noticing that every time I turn my laptop on while plugged into the speakers it automatically lowers and limits my volume to about 40% and when I try to turn it up a large banner warns me that any higher might be unsafe for my ears asking am I sure I want to do this.

It's very annoying to get this every day, and I can't seem to find a way to disable the warning permanently.

Good point. I only mention apple as they tend to force their will on consumers. Windows, until recent years, did not. First the flags for sound in 8.1. Now in 10 with forced auto update, auto removal of software they think doesn't work (but actually does), and most importantly the super basic graphics in the UI. Windows used to look sexy, now they have taken that away too. I get streamlining, but if i want to burn process using Aero, i should be able to. 10 looks like it was designed in basic, by a 2 year old. Samsung devices (android and windows) will chirp about volume when you put anything in the hole. LG V20 does not. Alcatel One Touch does not either. I can't speak for all android, but this chirping (from my samsung laptop, and galaxy siii) is the biggest reason i will never purchase a samsung product again.

I found a copy of realtek's driver version 6016699 online. I don't know which version they added the flag crap. If they really cared about our hearing they would disable all mp3 playback capabilities. 6016699 is old enough that it does not support microsoft's flags (free to go to 100%), works in 8.1 as of 1/1/2017, and allows for advanced controls of audio (eq and others) not found in basic win driver. Good luck to all, and shame on Microsoft and Realtek for this joint venture to be more like Apple.

Since when did Apple ever nag about our volume levels? IIRC, all my android devices nag about turning up the volume pass 50%.

I seem to have this issue on my linx 1010B windows 10 tablet. The flippin' prompt does get very annoying when I need to use my device as an source device. As like you, I am also a sound engineer, perhaps the way around this is to use an external usb soundcard, however, this proves very annoying as the device should

be able to output a modest signal independently. I have not had this problem on either my lenovo laptop, or 2 of my main rendering pc's.

Any luck?
