This is really irritating.My window phone 520 is going worse.There are alot of problems with it.I have finally thought of reseting it.But the problem is that i cannot afford losing my contacts.Is there any way of copying my contacts to my sim card? So that after reseting i can have them back when i insert my sim card after the whole reset process? Please help me out of this...

Your contacts are always synced to your Microsoft Account in the cloud. You can verify this on your PC: https://contacts.live.com
To answer your question, there is no export to SIM function. You can export contacts (if you still need to) from the mentioned site though by choosing Manage > Export.
There is no way to put the contacts from your phone to SIM card. I can suggest a few alternatives though.
Er No! I look at my Microsoft account and there is nothing about the contacts that are in my Win 8 phone that seem to be sucked up from the various sim cards that have been in it.
Guesss what I dont want my face book life in my phone or visa versa.

..? with online synced contacts, your phone could even be destroyed in a fire. just sign in with the same accounts on a new phone and all your contacts come back. and getting the contacts from the internet means they're accessible anywhere, anytime. and you can make local backups which you can then import into a feature phone.

Yes exactly, and when I bought the Lumia 520 I thought because my previous Nokia got drowned it would be straight forward enough to transfer all my info from the Nokia Suite, but oh no. Windows didn't sync with it so I had to manually input all my contacts!? So when your phone develops a fault (as mine did twice) good luck with transfering your contacts from the internet to a SIM so as you can use one of your old basic phones to tide you over while your 'smart' phone is away getting repaired for a couple of weeks...
This feature was not available on my Lumia 520 and Amazon, who I bought the phone from, said it was a fault. In addition the power switch failed again which meant I'd no way of getting my contacts onto an older phone whilst it would have been away getting repaired. Amazon refunded me and I was able to buy a new phone, a Samsung on Android... I've owned Nokia's from 2000 and after all the hassle with the transfer, then denouement of Symbian and the takeover by Windows I've now made the right choice.
Really? How would anyone at Amazon even know enough about windows phone to even be familiar with that option?
If the power switch failed on the phone, then that is surely some kind of defect on that one device - no reflection on the windows phone line of phones at all.
But if you had managed to create a Microsoft account on the phone, then added contacts to the phone, your contacts were and still are safely stored on your online Microsoft account....silly you for thinking otherwise.....
Ah well, if Android is what you ultimately chose, then so be it....don't blame your lack of knowledge about the capabilities of windows phone for making that choice.
I see you still don't get it @profjulie. I had to manually put all my contacts into my Lumia 520 because Windows didn't sync with Symbian when it took over Nokia so that's how they got 'safely stored' in my Microsoft account. Hows that for technological advancement! I had this issue with not being able to export to SIM for over 6 months and ultimately the input I got from you has been absolutely no help at all. Now that I have made a choice that works for me you just get down right rude. If you perceive that as an appropriate response from Microsoft then I am inordinately happy that I have decided to say good bye and good luck....
