After updating to Windows 8.1 - LogiLDA.dll module not found

I just updated to 8.1 and now I'm getting the error 

"There was a problem starting C:\Windows\System32\LogiLDA.dll

The specified module could not be found"

This happens every time I sign into my account.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm a "ME TOO"....are we all using a Logitech M185 mouse or similar? (...system32/LogiLDA.....)

I just updated my Surface Pro to 8.1.....I think I'll remove the Logitech mouse antenna(?) from the usb port and restart and see if I get the same message.

I'll just upgraded my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1.

Now I'll recive the LogiDLA message at startup/logon.

My fix.

Launch the Taskmanager.

Under TAB Startup search for LogiLDA

Right mouse button an disable.

Message popup resolved.

Stop here if you dont know the Windows registry.

But if you know go to the next step.

Open the commandprompt and type Regedit

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Find the entry Logitech Download Assistant

Select it, right mouse button and Remove.

Fix without having to open regedit or do any registry entries

  1. Insert Unified Logitech Dongle into an open USB port on the machine generating the LogiLDA.dll error
  2. Machine regonizes the ULD and loads appropriate software
  3. Verify that the mouse/trackball works through the ULD
  4. If ok, then
  5. Reboot
  6. After the machine restarts, login
  7. Error no longer appears

    Hi,

     I got rid of that annoying logidll popup, but I don't remember how & if it I got what I needed or not.

    All I can recall is I stopped popup when I had Win 8.1.

    My brain is fried since I went to Win 10.

    This PC (laptop) had that 8.1 so I figured Win 10 would install easy.

    Hell was I wrong. It has Win 10 but it isn't complete & almost everytime I start it I get new problem.

    Major problem is a 5 to 7 minute start-up to desktop then 1 to 3 minitues to sign-in.

    Win 10 crashed other Sony Vaio All-n-One wlWin 7 Pro & I have not use it in weeks.

    I am a longtime Microsoft user an still PC challenged lol, but Msoft really screwed me up, with this Win 10.

     I once POSTED THAT MS SCHOULD SEND ALL OF US RESERVATIONIST A FREE WIN10 INSTALL DISK OR A VOUCHER SO WE CAN STOP THIS MADNESS.

    That seems to me to e a fair  way to help us all.

    I believe we have the RIGHT to DEMAND IT SINCE WE REPLIED TO A FREE OFFER.

    I AM NO ONES "CRASH DUMMY" & IT'S the least MICROSOFT can do, well except nothing. Which would be lesser.

    "STAND UP PEOPLE" & SEND IN YOUR COMPLAINTS. Maybe they will listen. I kno a lot of unhappy PC owners are out there.

    Now I'm mad.  I got a nice reply with a link to surface 3 drivers.  6-8 files are available with little instruction.  I downloaded what looked germane and let the auto installer go to work.  "Installer interrupted".... I don't know what was running, can't find an installer file that seems like the one.  This little computer was running like a top and so useful and constantly used.  Now it limps and frustrates.

    ALL BECAUSE OF WINDOWS 10 "TRIAL:!!

    Restarting - we shall see.  MS you screwed up as far as I'm concerned.

    Had to go to the registry to remove the entry.  Wasn't running under task manager or in device manager.  By removing the reg. entry also fixed a USB device error message I was getting along with this message when starting the computer. This is on a Windows 7 machine.
