KB2919355 will not install on my Dell Inspiron x64 running Windows 8.1. The install ends with "We couldn't complete the update; Undoing changes..." and a full rollback. Install error code is 800f0922. KB2961908 provokes the same error and is much faster to try and to fail. I have tried many of the suggestions in the KB2919355 threads on this forum without any noticeable change in result. I chatted with a MS tech, who told me that this was obviously due to "third-party software" on my computer and that he could make all the necessary fixes for $99. Is there any other solution??

2014-08-15T01:00:42+00:00 Just once in my lifetime I would love to have a Microsoft technical support person say "yes, we can help you and because we built this lovely security patch and it's our policy that security patch issues are a free call, it's our responsibility.
2919355 is a security update.

2014-08-21T15:42:13+00:00 The automatic update failed when it ran. I then tried it manually. Still failed. I get the following error on both security and windows updates: 800F0922

2014-08-23T17:35:16+00:00 Hi,
I have several Updates that fail; 3 of which are classified as "Important." The updates get applied, I reboot, then after reaching 99%, I get the error message, "We would not complete your updates. Undoing changes."
KB2962409, 2967917, 2981580, and all versions for English Input Personalization Dictionary (e.g., 2881553) fail.
I connected with the Answer Desk and they told me to try the two-button reset (Volume Up + Power button) and then after reboot, try the updates again. Needless to say, I rolled my eyes, complied and, of course, it didn't work and I'm getting the same result.
The Answer Tech also told me that the 4 KBs I mentioned above will be pulled and replaced in a few days. I am skeptical but, regardless, I am still stuck with not being able to get those updates installed.
I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Surface Pro 2.
Any ideas? Thanks!
