Hi, Error 800F0922. Let me state that update KB----355 was/is not an issue with me. I have downloaded manually since posing the question all but KB 2955164 which still exhibits the fault. The manual installs were done with AVG disabled, Automatic downloads disabled and external HDDs disconnected. My troubles began after Jun 18th, no July updates worked on Auto. Thanks for trouble.

You've now effectively bricked my new laptop, it's stuck in a loop telling me not to turn it off and never going into windows. How can I fix this found no helpful advice anywhere.

You need to do some research, Windows 7 Computers are still available. Maybe not in Big Box Stores but from Computer Manufacturers. Just yesterday HP sent me a List of Computers-both desktops and Laptops-that came with Windows 7 and on sale. Shut it down. Find out from your manual or Computer Support how to boot into advance features, usually an F key. Restart tap the F key and enter advance features, try repair. if this doesn't work you can also do a refresh from the same place. it.
