I am in no way blaming you. Quite frankly I'm upset that this is the state of affairs. I can only report what is happening in the support cases that I have set up on behalf of impacted customers. They are being told they have to reinstall the operating system and are being sent back to the OEM for media. I apologize that I have no other solution to offer.

Unless you work for Microsoft, I don't think any of us can affirmatively state that only those impacted are a small minority. Regardless of the number, the fact that this is even happening - that machines get so corrupted that they cannot be serviced is inexcusable. This should not be happening -at-all-. I see no root cause being found, I see no good solution. On behalf of that small minority, do not discount their pain and the impact this has on their productivity please.

If it was purely Microsoft Windows update there would be 100,000s more people effective and they wouldn't be a small minority. Most all Windows 8.1 users have installed this update and are having no problem, that is why Microsoft is not going to provided any security or other updates if this update is not installed starting with the Monthly updates today. No I can't but I can go by the figures release yesterday and today. That is why they are going ahead and cutting off the updates to anyone running Windows 8.1 without this update, Hope this helps and if you need further assistance post and we will be glad to Help you.
