I am in full agreement with and Ron. I too, had dropped a post much earlier and work on those suggestions. I too, hope the mid-May update would install successfully, but it does not.
As a user, we (system) have been installing all updates smoothly until this version comes along. Implications - no issues with the system. The issue is this update that require something more from the other updates. And it leads to all kind troubleshooting that I and many users never had to do before. The point about disk space, I am irritated as well since my harddisk has LOTs of space - 322Gb free. If there is a need for partition for this installation, are the users require to take care of this now? If yes, there has to be a proper set of instructions and I mean - complete instructions trouble-shoot this update root causes.
Some users incidentally have their problems resolved through some suggestions, but the approach just does not seem complete / thorough as a leading major software company.. (I am surprised..)
I saw the latest email that it is unlikely that there will be another update. So probably there will be no further updates to my laptop which is just a year+ old. It's a really disappointing incident...
