Error: We couldn’t complete the updates, Undoing changes. Don’t turn off your computer.

I just checked my update history and everything is now installed and updated! And my computer no longer takes 30 minutes to reboot!  I don't know what happened, but THANK YOU!!!!!

I have had this error message appear 4 times now. I download the updates. I see my computer work to install the updates...1% 2% and then when it reached 99%, the message appears. "Couldn't complete updates. Undoing Changes." There is no error code. Microsoft--please fix this ASAP!!

When you try to install updates from Windows Update or Microsoft Update, you may receive error 0x80073712, and the update does not install.

This issue may occur if the Component-Based Servicing (CBS) manifest is corrupted.

1. Did you try to run an antivirus scan?
2. Did you try disabling an antirust software?

You may try the following steps and see if that helps:

Method 1:

Run the DISM tool If the problem continues, use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool to fix Windows Update corruption errors. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Open an elevated command prompt.
2. Run the "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" command.

Important When you run this command, DISM uses Windows Update to provide the files that are required to fix corruptions. However, if your Windows Update client is already broken, use a running Windows installation as the repair source, or use a Windows side-by-side folder from a network share or from a removable media, such as the Windows DVD, as the source of the files. To do this, run the following command instead:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:C:\RepairSource\Windows /LimitAccess

Note Replace the C:\RepairSource\Windows placeholder with the location of your repair source. For more information about using the DISM tool to repair Windows, see Repair a Windows Image

Method 2 : Try to scan the computer using  an antivirus installed on the computer. Or you may run a free online scanner from Microsoft.

Note:

The Microsoft Safety Scanner expires 10 days after being downloaded. During this 10 days, it will remove all the virus infected files and folders. I suggest you to create a backup of your data and then Install Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Now try to install the updates and see if they install. If not, try method 2.

Method 3: Temporarily disable anti-virus software installed on the computer.

Note : Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
