It would be grand if you could urge them to do a public statement. Security patches for consumers without KB2919355 stop on the second Tuesday in June, not "end of June or July"

Microsoft Support actually managed to fix the issue on one computer. It took them around 3.5 hours in remote control, but it did finally get fixed. Only one computer now with the error, but since I only use it for streaming videos occasionally to the TV, will just wait and see if a fix shows up.

As always I would be running ProcMon to try to help find all the diagnostics being generated and to help read between the lines to understand what is happening.
