This is ridiculous! I have sent this thread to every news outlet I can find. Maybe if this nightmare appears on TV, it will get Nadella's attention.

Just a comment. I don't personally have this issue but did a Factory Restore taking me back to Windows 8.0, then upgraded to 8.0 Pro w/media Center last night. When I upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro w/media Center Both Window8.1 Pro and Windows 8.1 update were installed together. This may prove to be a work around for some of you. When you say the latest, what KB articles does it say failed? Is there a store icon on your system tray?

But all applications need to be reinstalled. Not exactly an optimal solution.

It's always just KB2919355. No, no store icon in system tray.
