A Postscript to my earlier post. I have found the error code. For a lot of the failed updates, there is just one error code 800F0826 Today I had the same trouble, waiting a couple of hours while the computer undid the changes made etc. I hope someone knows what this code means, I am not a tech guru. Tim, I eliminated those continual error messages and the time to unchange those updates by going to Firefox 2-years ago. No problems since. What I don't understand is why hasn't Microsoft has not fix this issue. Carlos
