Have you tried this: Wait, while downloading the update... Wait while preparing... RIGHT when it writes: "Installiing update 1 of 1..." You make a restart But be FAST to make the restart!!

Error: 0x80240021 0x80240021 -2145124319 WU_E_TIME_OUT Operation did not complete because it timed out. Looks like a connectivity problem. Is your firewall blocking WU? I suppose you could try using the /LimitAccess switch to try to change your symptom that way. E.g. then you would at least know what file CBS thought that it needed to retrieve from the server that didn't seem good enough from what you already had. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log Unfortunately I doubt that either DISM.log or CBS.log will help you understand what is happening here. That's why I would be using ProcMon to supplement both. Good luck Robert
