This error may appear anytime a Windows Update fails. To investigate possible solutions, we need to start with the specific error code.

We can do this by viewing your update history.

  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen (or, if you're using a mouse, pointing to the lower-right corner of the screen and moving the mouse pointer up), and tap or click Settings.
  2. Tap or click Change PC settings, and then Update and recovery.

Folks at 55 pages and counting I would strongly advise you to start a new thread of your very own.

After 3 months of wasted time trying to resolve this, I used the following step by step procedure to completely solve the issue:

    1. Turn off windows 8.1 computer (optional)
    2. Relocate computer to garage
    3. Raise computer overhead
    4. Forcefully smash computer into concrete
    5. Bought a MacBook

I did not go quite as far as you; instead I installed the latest version of Ubuntu Linux. Ubuntu is almost ready for prime time.  Most applications are easy to install now & run without using the terminal window. I only go back to Windows now for vacation photo editing and to run iTunes.  Ubuntu has some very good photo editors but they are a little complicated for the casual user. Still no iTunes. I am retired so I do not need Excel, Word, etc. Open Office is sufficient for my needs.  Ubuntu connects to my wireless HP multi-function printer/scanner easier than Windows does.  If you have not tried Ubuntu in a while, you might want to give it a try instead of smashing your computer on the garage floor.

I uploaded my windows update log file for you to solve this problem. Here's the link

    http://1drv.ms/1IeMKxI .

A couple days ago I checked updates manually, then downloaded all the updates and installed them. Then I restarted my computer after about ten minutes waiting I got this error message as you described "We couldn't complete the updates, undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer." Then my computer was turned on and I opened action center, found my windows update history empty. And showed

Most recent check for updates: Never

    Updates were installed: Never

Then I tried again, checked for updates, did the same things again, then restarted computer and got the same message. Tried some ways I found on the Internet but none worked. I've been bothered by this problem for 3 days, almost got mad.

I don't know which update package cause this problem because the updates history is empty.

And I have 38 updates to install since I've disabled auto-update for about a month before.

These are information I can provided, if you need more I'll try to collect them for you, thanks!
