I keep on getting error 80240016 and cant download any updates. It states I have 44 updates. I try to restore to an earlier date and it won't restore.

I have error 800700002 for update KB3038701. Everything since has failed (5/14/15)

Susan. I eventually ran the commands - both to 100% - but Restorehealth did not work. However, I restarted and exactly the same thing happened - it stuck on 17 (of 35) updates and I had to switch off and when it restarted again it "couldn't complete" so was undoing the updates. Now, please moderate on this. I purchased a new computer and your operating software in good faith and with good money. Both work at the moment but on current status without updates, as you say, I am prone to many problems. You do not know why this has happened and consequently a fix is almost beyond hope; more than this you expect your customers to spend hours trying to find answers. In almost any other business this would be totally unacceptable - so why is it ok for Microsoft ? Why is it not possible to provide me with another version of your software (with the updates) which will work and is proven to provide updates ? Or are we saying that all users of 8.1 have this problem ? You have advised that there is a proven risk it will not work properly in the future without updates, yet you have (via Dell) given me software that cannot be updated. I suppose I could return the PC to Dell under warranty - but it's not really their problem is it ?
