Have you tried this: Wait, while downloading the update... Wait while preparing... RIGHT when it writes: "Installiing update 1 of 1..." You make a restart But be FAST to make the restart!!

I'm experiencing a failure to install kb3000850 and the system responds consistently with the 80246013 error code. This has been going on for weeks now and I have spent hours/days trying various suggestions posed in numerous forums - I'm running Windows8.1 and the wife has had similar experiences with Windows 7 but hers finally sorted itself out. I'd welcome any suggestions.......I really need to get back to work!

@ Islandboyjd , the majority of people contributing to this forum are volunteers who do not work for Microsoft. There appear to have been a lot of people affected with issues installing KB2919355 but many of them were assisted by Microsoft Support or through tips provided in this forum. In my case, I had to do a 'in place' repair on one of my laptops - see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media for a way of creating your own install media. As far as subsequent Windows Update issues, there will always be some people having issues with updates due to the complexity of hardware and software as well as customization done by computer manufacturers. If the suggestions posted here do not work for you, you can call Microsoft Support and get assistance. In your previous post you appear to have entered 'DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorhealth'. The command is 'DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth'

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 with core i7 running 8.1 for x64 based system My PC keeps trying to install updates then states: We couldn't complete the updates, Undoing changes. Don’t turn off your computer. Today it tried to install 83 updates, locked up my pc for 56 minutes then gave the same msg. I looked at the Update history. No failled updates listed for today (15 May) only one failled update listed on 14 May, Update windows 8.1 for x64 based systems (KB3054169) error 8024000B I have business mtgs next week and can not have my pc locked up for an hour.
