Every time i use my Laptop currently when i go to shut it down it wants to do updates, fails them and reverts back. I am getting error code 80070002. There seem to be a few of these updates failing this way. It's getting frustrating as it happens every time i use my Laptop. Can anyone assist in getting this fixed?
Many thanks in advance

Microsoft has screwed this up big time..

Looks like a connectivity problem. Is your firewall blocking WU? I suppose you could try using the /LimitAccess switch to try to change your symptom that way. E.g. then you would at least know what file CBS thought that it needed to retrieve from the server that didn't seem good enough from what you already had.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
Unfortunately I doubt that either DISM.log or CBS.log will help you understand what is happening here. That's why I would be using ProcMon to supplement both.
Good luck

I'm experiencing a failure to install kb3000850 and the system responds consistently with
the 80246013 error code.
This has been going on for weeks now and I have spent hours/days trying various suggestions posed in numerous forums - I'm running Windows8.1 and the wife has had similar experiences with Windows 7 but hers finally sorted itself out.
I'd welcome any suggestions.......I really need to get back to work!
I forgot to mention that I have tried the DISM 'solution':
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
After a few minutes it reports that is is at 20% and it appears to be 'locked' but applying a degree of patience it eventually finishes with the following error:
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 6.3.9600.17031
Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031

DISM failed. No operation was performed.
