I have exactly the same issues with KB2919355 as MST_LEECHIPTURNER down to the 75% install where it tries twice and then reverts back. I tried everything I read except resizing partitions and refreshing Windows, so I hid that update. Now I get an 800f0922 error when installing KB2961908 without KB2919355. Some other updates did install OK.
Error: We couldn’t complete the updates, Undoing changes. Don’t turn off your computer.
This error may appear anytime a Windows Update fails. To investigate possible solutions, we need to start with the specific error code.
We can do this by viewing your update history.
- Swipe in from the right edge of the screen (or, if you're using a mouse, pointing to the lower-right corner of the screen and moving the mouse pointer up), and tap or click Settings.
- Tap or click Change PC settings, and then Update and recovery.

2014-05-16T18:45:11+00:00 After the roll-back occurs, when I check the update history, it says "No updates have been installed yet." I have been able to install all of the updates except for the big one. There are no error codes. After it finished the installation, it reboots, then begins configuring at boot up. It hangs at 75%, and says it can't do it, so it restores the pc back to previous; no explanation, no error codes. All drivers are up to date. Takes about 3 hours from start to finish. I have done all the trouble-shooting that the MS tech said do. What now?

2014-05-16T17:20:11+00:00 How does one determine the error code when the update seems to complete and then fails on the reboot? I too have the same problem on this thread, the update goes to 100% when installing, but upon reboot goes to 21%, says it cannot continue, retries, reboots again. Gets to 20% or so again and then finally fails and says that it is "undoing the changes."
When I check the update history, it shows as if the update installed correct (about 8 times) though it clearly is still available for download and install and clearly did not work. No error code seems to be available. How do I find out what the error code is, and has anybody found a working fix to install this update?
I installed all of the other 5/14 updates just fine, just not KB2919355 which has failed many times over the last couple of weeks...
Thanks,
Ron

2014-05-16T16:02:13+00:00 Hello: We have a new april 2013 HP; running clean win 8.0; updated in fall of 2013 to 8.1.
Use home machine for photos, docs, music.
For last two weeks: KB2919355 will download and try to install, stops at 21%
Direct download from microsoft completes, but install stops at about 30% green bar.
Error code is 80073712,
also KB2961908 fails to install, error code 800F0922.
Since the Adobe bug came out, Have generally disabled the add on Adobe Flash, "shockwave."
No real change.
This seems like some sort or space constraint in installing the download.
Do you think Microsoft will get the proper patch?

2014-05-16T15:36:39+00:00 ... solution to fix the issue is for me to purchase Windows 8.1 and do an in place install. Are you kidding me? I paid for Windows and MS pushed the upgrade to me, now I have to pay for it??
That's exactly my beef, and more or less exactly what the MS tech told me too; though he dropped a big hint that I could use any valid 8.1 Pro retail key from another machine to download the ISO; not clear if you would actually need to enter the key again to do the non-destructive restore. Either way, the three 8.0 machines I have bought have all had an 8.0 OEM licence and then the in-place 8.1 upgrade from the Store.
Microsoft: can't you demonstrate your commitment to us by making a suitable online image accessible to the dism commands (or Restore option or whatever has the required uber-security privileges) which could:
- validate a suitable on-board 8.0 OEM product key (such as supplied with my Surface Pro from MS)
- understand that we have a legitimate right to fix our in-place upgraded-to-8.1 installations, and
- repair the elements which by now we assume were corrupted or otherwise left in a non-future compatible state by the in-place upgrade from the Store.
It might be hard technically, but then so is being left in this state; it certainly doesn't sound hard commercially to help your strongest supporters feel good about being on Windows again!
I'm going to be travelling for much of the next eight days (six flights); apologies in advance if I am slow to respond to replies. I'm anticipating more than a few 'me too's!
