Thanks, didn't need to restart in Safe Mode as Windows finally loaded, but will keep this information handy if need it at a later time.

Save mode is still available., the method to get there has changed. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 this applies to both 8.9 & 8.1. You can try running the following 2 commands in a Command Prompt (Admin) sfc /scannow , enter reboot and then run the following dism /online /cleanup-image /restore health , enter Reboot and run sfc /sscannow reboot and se if this helps. My computer has been going through the "We couldn't complete the updates. Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer" since last night. Tried restarting in SafeMode, but I'm assuming this is no longer an option with 8.1? Please advise how to get past this.
