Every single time I've helped a person with a stuck win8 machine it's been because updates got installed when they went to shut down. Do not blame the user here when they are merely following the prompts on the screen.

"He" is a "she" and I did what I had to do. It was on a loop, it was not going to correct it self. I am not an idiot. Perhaps had you been setting right next to me, your suggestions might have been helpful, but since you were not.....I did what I needed to and therefore, I have my computer back. I love it when people who think they are smarter then you are, talk down to you and blame you for the worlds problems.

No, he didn't. He clearly states his computer was installing updates and said "Do not turn your computer off", he did but not once but again by his own admission more than once. That warning is there for a reason. If your computer is going to run the way it should you have to treat it right. He has every right to be but not at Microsoft, but at himself. TeresaBowman1965 did the right thing. Sometimes you are given the option to shutdown and install updates. That was the option he was given, and he followed instructions.

Most of these problems are user problems. When your installing updates you don't turn your computer of you leave it and let it install.
