2014-08-25T16:34:05+00:00 Microsoft Tech Support took the following steps by remote access to my computer.
In a command-prompt window running with Administrator privilege:
dism /online /remove-package/packagename:Package_for_KB2919355~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.3.1.14
dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
Then launched my local download copy of Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu.
After the first reboot Control Panel, Windows Update reported "pending reboot" (or something like that). After the second reboot, Windows Update reported success. After the third reboot, Windows Update said that KB2919355 was an important update that needed to be installed, but its size was now of order 160MB instead of the previous ~750MB. I ran that install, allowing automatic download. Finally, KB2919355 appears to be installed.
I had done the two dism commands and the .msu execution a few times before MSTech, always with error 800F0922 resulting. MSTech asserted that he had done nothing else to my computer and found nothing defective or interfering on my computer. My problem is gone but I was not enlightened.

2014-08-23T17:35:16+00:00 Hi,
I have several Updates that fail; 3 of which are classified as "Important." The updates get applied, I reboot, then after reaching 99%, I get the error message, "We would not complete your updates. Undoing changes."
KB2962409, 2967917, 2981580, and all versions for English Input Personalization Dictionary (e.g., 2881553) fail.
I connected with the Answer Desk and they told me to try the two-button reset (Volume Up + Power button) and then after reboot, try the updates again. Needless to say, I rolled my eyes, complied and, of course, it didn't work and I'm getting the same result.
The Answer Tech also told me that the 4 KBs I mentioned above will be pulled and replaced in a few days. I am skeptical but, regardless, I am still stuck with not being able to get those updates installed.
I'm running Windows 8.1 on a Surface Pro 2.
Any ideas? Thanks!
