I had the same problem and it turned out that I had not updated for several months on my laptop and when I did finally update one of the later updates came in before the next one should have and that is what caused the problem. I took my laptop into the Microsoft Office downtown and they fixed it. I have now made a note on my calendar to update my laptop. i

Thanks for your reply. I have an Intel Core i5-5300U Processor( 2.30GHz 1600MHz 3MB). Does the issue you describe also apply to this processor? I gather from your reply that perhaps waiting awhile before applying additional updates, may result in success in the future?

If you have an AMD processor, especially if it's an 'anthlon" processor, the problem is the fault of Microsoft's patch to try to stop hacking involving the processor. They have stopped sending the update which caused the problem until they fix it. I stopped updates on my computer and will restart them when windows says the problem is fixed.
