Hi • 2017-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4038782) This has failed to install 4 times. My Windows 10 is now unstable. I get critical structure warnings. Computer gets to 100% configuring updates then update fails. Help pleas

you would need to provide step by step instructions. No. It is too speculative. It's just an idea for someone who does know what I mean and wants to try it. It's really more about exploring the scope of what we can do with DISM than anything positive that I know about or even have high hopes for. I may try this myself if I get a virtual machine set up to do it to.

I should have mentioned in my previous note that I am running Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit. My partition size is 334 GB with 192GB free, so space is definitely NOT the issue. I have never had any problems with this installation before and I have no intention of re-installing windows just to make an update work. My system worked fine before this update and it still works fine without this update. I assume (hopefully) that Microsoft will fix the problems with this update eventually and it will one day install. If someone has any suggestions for something that worked, I'd be happy to try it. I have already tried the DISM suggestions that were suggested on the previous thread, but no luck with those. Regards, Ron
