I have the same problem. when I check to see which update failed I see 60+ failed updates. I have tried uninstalling them all but some are unable to uninstall. the last working update was like 5 months ago. I have no idea what to do, if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

This absolutely worked. I changed the automatic updates to let me choose, I went out to the updates and unclicked this one. I then allowed the other 30 updates to go and waited and sure enough everything worked. It is this one update that was causing the problem so far.

when I click on change pc settings the screen flips to blank blue. I also have lost search both in desktop and apps, and side bar spy glass will not open. problem: I have updates, 20 important and 13 optional waiting to be installed I've tried to install one at time groups, restart. installs and can't complete. don,t shut off computer while Microsoft undoes changes. Dozen's of trys. please help Tim

I have the same problem. when I check to see which update failed I see 60+ failed updates. I have tried uninstalling them all but some are unable to uninstall. the last working update was like 5 months ago.

I have no idea what to do, if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

I used several programs to remove adware back on 5/2/15. Following that my computer wouldn't successfully do updates. I have paid for Microsoft support for the year...after two full Saturdays w/Microsoft support working on my PC remotely....on 5/6 and then on 5/22....the issue still occurred. By 5/31 I had over 140 updates that were trying to load and erring out and then having to uninstall. It was getting frustrating. I found this blog....and running the above go.microsoft.com....and it worked. Unbelievable. As soon as I ran that and rebooted 42 updates came in and successfully loaded. I even purchased reimage repair (RE) and it failed to fix the issue.

So THANK YOU for this post. 6/1/15...happy again. here's the report details:
