I'm experiencing a failure to install kb3000850 and the system responds consistently with the 80246013 error code. I forgot to mention that I have tried the DISM 'solution': DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth After a few minutes it reports that is is at 20% and it appears to be 'locked' but applying a degree of patience it eventually finishes with the following error: Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031 [==========================100.0%==========================] Error: 0x80240021 DISM failed. No operation was performed. For more information, review the log file. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Have you tried this: Wait, while downloading the update... Wait while preparing... RIGHT when it writes: "Installiing update 1 of 1..." You make a restart But be FAST to make the restart!!

can not have my pc locked up for an hour. That's why they suggest leaving your machine powered and letting the updates happen when it is not being used.

@ Islandboyjd , the majority of people contributing to this forum are volunteers who do not work for Microsoft. There appear to have been a lot of people affected with issues installing KB2919355 but many of them were assisted by Microsoft Support or through tips provided in this forum. In my case, I had to do a 'in place' repair on one of my laptops - see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media for a way of creating your own install media. As far as subsequent Windows Update issues, there will always be some people having issues with updates due to the complexity of hardware and software as well as customization done by computer manufacturers. If the suggestions posted here do not work for you, you can call Microsoft Support and get assistance. In your previous post you appear to have entered 'DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorhealth'. The command is 'DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth'

I forgot to mention that I have tried the DISM 'solution':
