Hello, my error code is KB2919355

The automatic update failed when it ran. I then tried it manually. Still failed. I get the following error on both security and windows updates: 800F0922

Just once in my lifetime I would love to have a Microsoft technical support person say "yes, we can help you and because we built this lovely security patch and it's our policy that security patch issues are a free call, it's our responsibility. 2919355 is a security update. KB2919355 will not install on my Dell Inspiron x64 running Windows 8.1. The install ends with "We couldn't complete the update; Undoing changes..." and a full rollback. Install error code is 800f0922. KB2961908 provokes the same error and is much faster to try and to fail. I have tried many of the suggestions in the KB2919355 threads on this forum without any noticeable change in result. I chatted with a MS tech, who told me that this was obviously due to "third-party software" on my computer and that he could make all the necessary fixes for $99. Is there any other solution??

It's KB2919355 all over again, for those who didn't enjoy it enough the first time. Is spoke too soon. It's actually worse than 2919355 , since it's causing BSODs for some users. I guess this is another one where we'll have to wait several months until Microsoft figure out how to make it work. Back in the 16-bit Windows days everyone used to joke about how it took Microsoft three releases of anything to produce something that worked properly. There have been three releases of 2919355, I guess we need to hide the 2982791 update for three more Patch Tuesdays until MS have figured out how to make it work. (Come to think of it, given the horror stories about it trashing machines, I'm kinda glad the install failed, it could be a blessing in disguise).
