I tried to install 8.1, and after downloading and appearing to install, my PC hang for about 2 hours.  I reboooted and recieved a message that 8.1 could not be installed, and reverting to 8.0.  Error message 0xC1900101-0x40019

This morning I again tried to install from the Store, and immediately got a message This app was not installed.  Error message 0x80070652

Any idea as to how to install 8.1?

Chuck

After more than 30 tries I HAVE SOLVED my problem

What I did and didn’t work:

    Clear the Store cache

Update the Device Drivers on the Computer.

Perform a Clean Boot and find out which application/service is causing this issue.

Uninstall any program that maybe is not compatible with windows 8.1

After doing all this my error code change from 0x80070652 to 0x00000005

¿what have finally worked? I have an external hard disk connected to my PC, so I disconnected. After this the installation worked just fine.

DISCONECT ANY USB OR EXTERNAL DEVICE CONNECTED TO YOUR PC before the installation of Windows 8.1. This worked for me, I hope it can help someone to solve his problem

    0xc1900101 - 0x40019

    What I did ?

Turned off Eset Internet security 6

Uninstalled Aero glass for windows 8 (glass8.berlios.de)

Turned off Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer ( http://www.deviantart.com/art/Windows-8-Start-Screen-Customizer-v1-4-10-beta-337308916 )

After this I installed Windows 8.1 without any problems.

I'm getting the same message, and it again appears 8.1 is another MS work-in-progress, poorly designed, and even more poorly implemented. It's amazing that MS has us spend so much time playing computer programmer, when all they have to do is stay on top of their new stuff, to make sure it can work and be installed seamlessly.

Thanks Tom.... I have tried everything on the forum and looked in a couple of other places as well...

With all due respect to all the MS Moderators, MVP's and other "knowledgeable people" in the MS community.... Houston we have a problem..... we are the ones trying to dig in and get it done... we could just go out into Blog land and trash MS ad nauseum.

To our "friends" in Washington state..... Take the time to read our posts and take them seriously. We take our upgrades seriously. Help!
