I tried to install 8.1, and after downloading and appearing to install, my PC hang for about 2 hours. I reboooted and recieved a message that 8.1 could not be installed, and reverting to 8.0. Error message 0xC1900101-0x40019
This morning I again tried to install from the Store, and immediately got a message This app was not installed. Error message 0x80070652
Any idea as to how to install 8.1?

I did not try again, but from other replies in this thread I see, that it often is a problem with old drivers, so maybe update of all drivers and maybe even the Motherboard BIOS might solve the issue.
But this is only guessing, I have no prove.
Did you solve your problem? , I have the same as you had and I don´t know how to solve it... Help me please
My impossibility to upgrade to windows 8.1 was due to : Steel Series Engine (mouse software)
They issued an new version, compatible with 8.1, and then the update worked like a charm ;)
Disconnected external device and it worked. thanks
