8.1 install error 0xC1900101-0x40019 and 0x80070652

Thanks for your response David.  Without question, I was venting although I strongly believe that my comments were both appropriate and justified.  Based on previous posts, as well as those on other sites, there is no doubt that most of the installation issues related to 8.1 have to do with drivers of one kind or another.  In fairness to Microsoft, these types of issues will always happen with new operating systems simply because of the wide variety of system specs.  But for that same company to release a flawed new operating system before releasing necessary system updates is a sign of desperation and simple incompetence.  And to think that 8.1 was released, what, three months ago, is remarkable.  Instead of trying to solve this issue on your own, I would strongly recommend that each person who experiences this type of installation issue contact Microsoft support at 800-642-7676.

I am attempting the 8.1 upgrade for the fourth or fifth time.  I initially received the 0x30018 error code but now i am receiving the 0x40019 code.  Ironic that my daughter, who uses a Mac computer, received a notification today that Apple was offering a free upgrade to their newest operating system...something like Maverick.  She downloaded and installed it within about 30 minutes.  And here I sit trying to install 8.1 again and again.

So please explain why people continue to buy Microsoft products?  I have an iPhone and an iPad and after a year, no problems at all...not one.  Maybe the big question comes down to why I purchased a new PC instead of a Mac.  Habits are difficult to break but it appears that Microsoft is one habit that most of us will ultimately have to move away from.  Without sounding like an advertisement for Apple, how can Microsoft, as one of the largest companies in the entire world, come to the conclusion that their operating system is even close to being ready for public consumption?  And to say this after Windows 8 has been out for better than a year.

Microsoft, like Palm and Blackberry before them, has simply lost their way.  Instead of causing the market to react to their innovations, they have instead reacted to the perceived needs of that same market.  This company's management should be reminded of the old saying about putting the cart before the horse.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but did you post in an attempt to solve a problem or did you post to vent?

While I understand the frustration when an upgrade or download doesn't go smooth, sending a scathing vent doesn't help anyone.

If you posted to obtain help, you might want to try:

1. system
2. graphics card (only because my solution on an HP envy 23 was graphic driver related)
3. graphic driver versions

Again, plz don't take the above the wrong way, just trying to help you.

Someone from Microsoft spent 3 hours logged into my Lenovo G500 and it still gave me the SAME issue that I've had for a while. The first time I did the update it went through but then I had a registry error that wouldn't let any cloud service work (EG Google Drive, Dropbox). I restored to factory settings and I've been trying to fix it for days!

I've experienced the same problem!  No luck here either.  Microsoft has been useless to resolve!!!
