10/8/2013 Windows Update has Jacked my PC

On 10/9/2013...yesterday...I installed the large Windows Update for October.   During the reboot phase, my computer Blue Screened.  First time that has ever happened to me in 20 years with a Windows Update.  So I had to force shutdown and start the pc.   Booted up again normally..blue screen.  Tried again in Safe Mode and it appeared to finish finally.

So that is an issue of itself.  However, the Windows Update appears to have caused me some serious problems this past day.   My computer constantly freezes after some duration of usage, no matter what I'm doing.   (What I mean by "freeze" is "crash", but not BSOD...just can't do anything, even at-tab or alt-cntl-delete)  PC crashed/froze 4-5 times after the update and now.

This is the first major issue I've ever had with a WU and I've no clue what to do.  I did some Googling and there does appear to a lot of people having problems with this update and some mention of KB...2330, although I've no clue if that specific update is my problem or not.

Help would be appreciated.

(On a sidenote, I find this whole "community support" tool to not be very user-friendly at all and cumbersome.  For one , the sort feature just flat does not work)

    i have same problem it takes 2 hours some days to get my pc working because of updates 

    its telling me that i have no hard drive found on pc  and after rebooting several time it eventually comes on and says there is nothing wrong with pc

    Rob, please you obviously have customers with issues, I'm offering a free support case so that Microsoft engineers can look at the impacted systems.  I have more Microsoft engineers that I'm trying to connect with people than people willing to open support cases.

    I personally have had no issues with any of those updates on the Windows 7 machines I've applied the updates to.

    KB2884256

    If you install these updates before Microsoft has a fix for all the crash and related system issues these patches are causing you do so at your own risk.  I have hidden the updates and will not install them until they are re-released with fixes.  All alter core Windows system drivers or USB drivers.

    I tried rolling back using a back-up from 16-Sep-2013 as soon as it booted into life the updates were ready to be installed  - back to square 1 PC freezes.  Tried to use same backup file but won't let me so now I revert to 09-Sep-2013, this time I think I'm smart and un-mark all but the Window 7 updates, just 15.  When I close Windows it tells me it's trying to install 25 updates - where the extra 10 come from who knows - anyway at least I have Linux to fall back on so can at least surf the web - until the £$%!!! at Microsoft sort themselves out.

    i installed the updates on october 9th and it has caused me real headaches.  I kept getting the blue screen and i tried to restore to an earlier point in time but i could not because i had no restore point.  I tried to remove the updates manually but kept getting error message unable to uninstall do to an error. So i had to resort to recovering my computer back to factory settings.  I am now installing the older updates bit by bit but I really do not know what to do when i come to the 26 faulty updates. Please can any one suggest what the best course of action would be.
